1920 - 1949: The Early Years
1920
Foundation of a bakery/cake shop in Ratibor (Upper Silesia) by Robert Sollich
1928
Relocation to Rostock where, apart from confectionery, a company for confectionery machines is set up.
Invention of the first vacuum sugar boiling machine: the SOLLKOCH.
1948
Development of the first continuous vacuum boiler: the SUPER-SOLLKOCH. Patent granted for a starchless moulding system for fondant and other soft candy products.
1950 - 1957: A New Start in Bad Salzuflen
1950
Relocation and company foundation in Bad Salzuflen and the start of the development of chocolate machinery.
1956
Invention and patenting of the circulation tempering process for the feeding of coating and moulding systems.
1957
Development of the first chocolate enrobing machine with built-in circulation tempering.
1966 - 1987: Sollich Becomes A World-famous Brand
1966
Takeover of the company by Helmut Sollich, Robert Sollich’s son, under whose management Sollich becomes the largest manufacturer of chocolate coating systems.
1970
Development of the CONBAR® bar-forming system.
1980
Development of coating systems for caramel and sugar icings type CARAMAT® and FONDAMAT®.
1985
Development of the praline forming system SOLLFORMAT®.
1987
Development of the ‘Turbo Tempering Process’.
The TURBOTEMPER® becomes the most successful tempering machine worldwide.
1989
Development of the SOLLCOFILL® moulding systems
1991/1992
Takeover and integration of CHOCOTECH into the SOLLICH group.
1993
Development of the CLUSTER FORMER®
With Thomas Sollich into the Future
1997
Takeover of the company, now with 270 employees, by Thomas Sollich, grandson of the company’s founder.
SOLLICH now is the market leader for bar and praline forming systems, coating systems for chocolate, caramel and icing compounds and chocolate tempering machines.
The export share is approx. 75%.
